E12 Trading Shame for Joy - Easter Sunday

Shame: The Great Relationship Killer - Wk11

On Easter Sunday we celebrate the ultimate victory over shame as Christ triumphs over death and the cross and resurrected in honor! "Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne." -Hebrews 12:2

E13 Our Greatest Privilege - Most Neglected Responsibility

Hosting the Holy Spirit - Week 1

It is time to get serious about hosting the Holy Spirit! And while we love and honor the written Word of God, the Scriptures were never meant to replace a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. Like the Pharisees, we are often more comfortable with theological ideas and principles than we are with having a personal relationship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. “If the Holy Spirit is a divine person and we do not know him as such, then we are robbing a divine being of the worship and the faith and the love and the surrender to Himself which are His due.” - R.A. Torrey

E14 Faith not Fear

Hosting the Holy Spirit - Wk 2

In each of the gospel writer’s accounts, Jesus gives his fearful unbelieving band of disciples a crazy, big, audacious mission! Jesus did not coddle them, He commissioned them! He spoke destiny to them. He challenged them. He believed in them in spite of their weakness and immaturity. He tells them to go into all nations to make disciples! "Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. 5 John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 1:4-5 NLT

E15 Spirit Empowered Women

Hosting the Holy Spirit - Wk 3

In Jesus’ kingdom, it’s the last, the least, and the looked over who become the first, the favored, and the focus of attention! (See Matthew 20:16) Mary, among other daughters of God, is a picture of the overwhelming grace of God being extended to the unworthy, the broken, and the forgotten.
Launching in 1981 as just 30 people in a living room in Northwest Indiana, Living Stones has grown into a vibrant multi-generational church family. Stones are a product of God the Creator — formed in nature and no two are alike. As we come to faith in Jesus Christ, scripture tells us that we are like living stones in the hand of God and He is using us to build up a spiritual house. Our foundation was built on the work of nurturing and restoring healthy, biblical marriages. In continuing that mission, everything we do here at Living Stones is centered around loving, healing, and equipping individuals and families to grow into a greater likeness of Christ Jesus! By the Holy Spirit, we exist today to Renew Hearts, Restore Homes, Reform Culture and Reach the Nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-5 ”As you come to him who is the Living Stone — he was rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious — you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house.” We are a family — misfits, hypocrites, creatives, addicts, reformers, over-churched, unchurched, wanderers — each of us a stone, uniquely crafted by the hand of God, made alive through Jesus, and now living by the power of the Holy Spirit. Together, we are Living Stones.
